Margaret River winter walks and truffle hunts
If you think walking tours are just for the warm season, think again! The South West truly comes alive in the cooler months with the crisp air, rolling green fields and fresh gourmet produce. How about unearthing some full, bold flavours on a romp along with some wet doggy noses? Yes, we’re talking about truffles.
Explore the South West during the cooler months with Forage Safaris on an unforgettable adventure and hunt for truffles with our local farmers in the Margaret River Region. Join their expertly-trained dogs as they snuffle out freshly harvested truffles whilst enjoying a leisurely stroll through the idyllic backdrop of the truffle orchard and surrounding farmland.
Due to the richness of this gourmet product, WA truffles are sent to some of the world’s best restaurants, including Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck, Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry and, in Australia, Peter Gillmore’s Quay. We can now try them in our own backyard thanks to the opening of the truffle farm.
