Agritourism Tours

Margaret River Region and beyond

Agritourism, also known as farm tourism, is the intersection of tourism and agriculture, where visitors visit a working agricultural farm for leisure, recreation, or educational purposes.

Forage Safaris motto is to “Discover the goodness in the land” through creating tailored food, farm and wine tours - in essence, Agritourism. Our experiences include meeting the farmer or producer, learning about their product and the journey from paddock to plate, or vine to wine and along the way tasting, walking, and experiencing the backroads of the region.

Agriculture is the most healthful, most useful, and most noble employment of man” (George Washington). Everyday we can thank a farmer for our meal, and while on tour, we see the process and dedication that goes into food production.

As Forage Safaris Tours are tailored to suit your interests, these are the following tours where Agritourism is a highlight:

  1. Full Day Food, Farm and Wine Tour OR

  2. Half Day Food, Farm and Wine Tour

The Full Day Tours allow us time to travel extensively to visit rural farms across the south west region, or spend the full day in the Margaret River Region. During the day we have the time to visit at least four different farms, depending on the seasons, and enjoy an insightful experience into country life.

The Half Day Tours give a great snapshot of farming life in the Margaret River Region with at least two farms/winery visits and a chance to meet animals. Tours are carefully designed around your interests and focus on animal feedings and meetings for little visitors. There is something for the whole family to enjoy.

Experience first-hand the diversity of agriculture as we visit apple orchards, avocado groves, chestnut farms, truffle farms, flower farms, organic vegetable farms, vineyards and more. Delve into the intricacies of farming practices, and engage with producers in their own backyard, gaining insights into their craft and passion.

These tours give plenty of opportunities for foraging and tasting of food and wine, along with gin and beer options, along with time to purchase some local products and wine, to take home with you..
