Geographe Bay Race Week 15 - 21 February, 2025
The pristine shores of Geographe Bay in Busselton, is the home to the Geographe Bay Yacht Club (originally the Geographe Bay Sailing Club). Established in 1959, the Geographe Bay Yacht Club is home to Western Australia’s biggest yachting regatta which is held annually in February.
The race is spectacular to watch from many locations across the bay, including whilst walking along the Busselton Jetty or while enjoying a drink or a meal at any one of the fine establishments at the Busselton foreshore.
To welcome visitors to our crystal clear waters, Forage Safaris has put together a special wine tasting tour departing from Busselton, or the Geographe Bay Yacht Club. This is suited to participants and visitors with a specially designed shorter tour to experience the Busselton Margaret River Region and have a taste of our beautiful offerings of wine, without missing out on too much of the sailing action.
The tour includes embarking on a unique wine-tasting journey departing from Busselton, set in the beautiful surroundings of a sensory garden. Join the winemaker for an immersive experience that takes you through the nuances of wine tasting in this one-of-a-kind garden. Pick & Sip offers an in-depth adventure, where you’ll discover various grape varieties, the origins of wine flavours, different winemaking techniques, and helpful tips on wine and food pairings.
The Garden serves as the heart of the experience. Its mix of fruit trees, herbs, flowers, and seasonal vegetables brings the flavours of the wine to life, teaching you how to match wine with food based on textures, flavours, and styles. Cathy, the winemaker and gardener, will guide you through this journey.
The tour includes convenient pick-up and drop-off from your Busselton-area accommodation, a wine-tasting experience, and a delicious locally sourced platter to complete the tour. Our very comfortable and spacious Kia Carnival can seat a maximum of 7.
Departure times: 9.30am or 2pm
